Save the Fields

Bodegas Jiménez-Landi is against photovoltaic macro-projects, one of them of 2,000 hectares that threatens 23% of the municipality of Méntrida, a town in Castilla-La Mancha with a long tradition of wine production, where our winery is located and from which the Protected Designation of Origin Méntrida-Toledo, one of the oldest in Spain, takes its name.

The positioning of the winery aims to protect and preserve our terroir, its fauna and flora, full of vineyards, holm oaks and olive groves. In short, we are in favor of biodiversity and against macro-projects that we consider speculative.

We support renewable energies and the installation of solar and/or photovoltaic plants in certain low-impact locations such as deserts or wastelands, but we are against their installation in areas with high environmental and social impact as well as their size, as is the case that threatens Méntrida. The future of our winegrowers, our traditions and our countryside is at stake.

For this reason, we support the association Let's Save the Fields recently created by neighbors of Méntrida, whom we will help in the awareness actions that are necessary in order to defend our fields.
